LIRR 3RD TRACK EXPANSION PROJECT

The purpose of the LIRR expansion project is to address train congestion and delays, while establishing a more reliable and efficient rail network that enables dependable bi-directional service during peak hours. The project encompasses multiple interconnected initiatives, including the construction of parking garages, retaining walls, improvements to rail bridges, and the elimination of eight street-level grade crossings along a 9.8-mile stretch from Floral Park to Hicksville, NY.

As part of the project, JOADEM was contracted by M & J Engineering, a subcontractor to 3TC, to provide Special Inspections and Materials Testing Laboratory services. JOADEM’s involvement in the project commenced in September 2019 and successfully completed the project in 2021.

Through JOADEM’s provision of Special Inspections and Materials Testing Laboratory services, the project ensures compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. These services encompass rigorous inspections and testing of materials used in the construction process, guaranteeing the integrity and reliability of the infrastructure.
